Crossing the Schengen border
Schengen ↔ non-Schengen requires passport control. A Schengen → Schengen transfer does not require passport control under the recorded rule. Whether repeat security is needed is not resolved by this border rule.
Your checked baggage
On a normal transfer baggage is usually checked through, but confirm the baggage tag and airline instructions. On separate tickets, the recorded guidance requires reclaim and recheck.
