Passport control applies when crossing between Schengen and non-Schengen. Some nationalities need a visa even for airside transit. A public-area hotel or Hall F route requires permission to enter Schengen.
Your airport route
Separate tickets: collect and recheck bags unless checked through. Allow for controls, terminal travel and your next airline’s bag-drop deadline. Missed connections may be unprotected.
