Arrivals from outside the Schengen area go through passport control. Collecting bags, checking in again or using a hotel outside the secure area may require entering Spain. Confirm your documents and connection with the airline before travel.
Your airport route
With separate tickets, check whether you must collect and recheck your bags. Allow time for entry formalities, check-in, security and any passport control. Ask both airlines about their deadlines; a short walk between gates is not a safe connection allowance.
